How to apply for Doctoral studies
Admissions committee information for applying to the Kazakh National University of Sports
Applicants for PhD doctoral programs must hold a "Master's" degree and have at least 9 months of work experience, or have completed residency training in medical specialties. Applicants for professional doctoral programs, including industrial PhD and DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) programs, must hold a Master's degree or a higher specialized education equivalent to a professional Master's degree.
For doctoral applicants, the HEI admissions committee performs the following:
Consulting applicants on the selection of postgraduate educational program groups and providing information on the entrance examination procedure
Organizing the receipt and verification of applicant documents
Organizing the entrance examination for groups of educational programs
100-point grading scale for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program
Interview with the applicant conducted by the HEI examination committee
Essay
Examination on the profile of the educational program group
Upon completion of the entrance examination, responses to the essay blocks and profile-specific examination questions are sent to the HEI for processing and evaluation. Entrance examination results are announced the day after the exam. Applicants can view their results in their personal account.
When submitting documents, the applicant must specify one HEI and one group of educational programs.
List of required documents
Applicants for doctoral studies must submit the following package of documents:
application in free form
educational document (original, upon submission to the admissions committee)
identity document (required for identification)
official certificate of proficiency in the state language (KAZTEST) issued by the National Testing Center, with the exception of foreign citizens
certificate confirming foreign language proficiency for applicants to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program: English language proficiency:
- International English Language Tests System Academic (IELTS Academic), threshold score – at least 5.0
- Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Program Internet-based Test (TOEFL IBT), threshold score – at least 35 points
- Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Program (TOEFL ITP), threshold score – at least 417
- TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication), threshold score – at least 550
- Duolingo English Test, threshold score – at least 80

list of scientific publications from the last 3 calendar years (if available), research plan
