Military training of students is organized with the aim of preparing reserve officers for the Armed Forces, other troops and military units of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Student selection process


Stage 1 — Medical examination

Undergoing a medical examination in accordance with the Rules for conducting military medical examination.

Upon completion of all the above tests, the student must present a medical examination card issued by the military department.

Passing a medical examination

The medical commission will be organized at the DDO collection point at the address: st. Republic, 54
Candidates submit to the medical commissions the results of medical examinations conducted no earlier than thirty calendar days before the start of the medical examination.
You must have the following: - an outpatient card with a conclusion from a physician at the university medical center regarding the tests completed (the student's medical examination card issued by the military department must also be filled out with a conclusion from a physician at the university medical center regarding the tests completed in the appropriate column); - a registration certificate (original) with a note confirming acceptance for military service; | - a service reference with a stamp and the signature of the dean or supervisor; - an identity card (original); | - a change of shoes (slippers).
Students who have passed the medical examination submit a medical card with a conclusion from the military medical commission to the military department.
Based on the results of the military medical commission, one of the following conclusions is issued: 1) "fit for military training"; 2) "unfit for military training."
Students who are deemed "unfit" for health reasons or who fail to submit a medical examination card to the military department are considered to have failed the first stage of the competition.
Students referred for additional medical examination submit a medical examination card to the military department after passing the medical examination.

Stage 2 — Professional & psychological testing

Conducting professional psychological testing

Professional and psychological testing of students is conducted by a selection committee in the university's computer labs and includes testing of motivation, stress resistance, critical and logical thinking.
Students who are not recommended based on the results of the professional and psychological testing are considered to have failed the second stage of the competition. The results of the professional and psychological screening and physical fitness assessment are recorded in a report signed by the committee members.

Stage 3 — Physical fitness test

Students' physical fitness is assessed by the results of passing physical education standards in accordance with Appendix 3.

🪪 Admission to physical fitness testing is strictly by ID card.

❌Students who do not score 9 points in the total of three standards are considered to have failed the competition stage.

📑The results of the professional-psychological selection and physical fitness testing are recorded in reports, which are signed by the commission members.

👕Dress code: sportswear (with changeable sports shoes)


Stage 4 — Competitive selection

Results of the Selection Stages

  • The results of the selection stages are subject to review at a meeting of the student selection committee for study at the military department (hereinafter referred to as the selection committee)
  • The second, third, and fourth stages are conducted by the selection committee
  • A candidate may only complete each stage of the competition once. Applicants who fail the previous stage will not be admitted to the next stage

Ranking Score

  • Data on a student's grade point average (GPA) at the university at the end of the academic year
  • Competitive selection is based on a ranking score calculated according to the ranking score calculation table
  • Meetings of the selection committee are held in accordance with a work plan approved by the chairperson of the selection committee and are accompanied by the preparation of minutes in the appropriate format. The following decisions are made: "admit to military training," "recommend for tuition-based training," and "refuse."
  • Decisions are made by a simple majority of votes. In the event of a tie, the casting vote of the chairperson of the selection committee is decisive

Free Tuition

  • Students ranked from first to the number corresponding to the number of places allocated according to the enrollment plan are eligible to enroll in the military department for free tuition

Appeal

A student who does not agree with the results of the competition stages submits a written statement (in any form) to the chairman of the selection committee on the same day.

The decision of the selection committee on the merits of the application, formalized in a protocol, is made within 1 calendar day from the date of receipt of the application with the wording “satisfy” or “refuse”.

The results of the competition will be posted on the military department’s information board no later than 5:00 p.m. the day after the selection committee’s work has ended.
