KNUS students will represent Kazakhstan at the FIDE World University Chess Championships 2026

From August 3 to 10, 2026, Almaty will host the FIDE World University Chess Championships, a world chess tournament for students that will bring together the strongest university teams from around the world.

The team from the Kazakh National University of Sports (KNUS) will participate in this prestigious international tournament. The university will be represented by the following students:

Qazybek Nogerbek;

Satbek Akhmedinov;

Arystan Isanzhulov;

Amina Kairbekova.

Sixteen of the strongest teams representing leading universities from around the world will compete for the championship title, including Cambridge University, University of Oxford, Harvard University, Saint Louis University, University of Texas at Dallas, Webster University, and others.

The participation of KNUS students in the championship is an important step in the development of university sports and intellectual competitions, as well as a testament to the high level of training of the university's students.
