The IESF World Esports Championship 2027 will be held in Kazakhstan in 2027
Today, as part of the official opening ceremony of the Kazakh National University of Sports – one of the largest educational projects in Central Asia focused on sports science and the training of highly qualified specialists – an agreement was signed in Astana to host the IESF World Esports Championship 2027.
One of the key highlights of the solemn ceremony was the signing of a tripartite memorandum between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Esports Federation (IESF), and the Qazaq Cybersport Federation. This document elevates the strategic partnership of the parties aimed at developing international esports and hosting the World Championship in Kazakhstan to a new level.
Furthermore, a cooperation agreement was concluded between the Kazakh National University of Sports and the International Esports Federation (IESF). This document provides broad opportunities for joint training of specialists, improvement of educational programs, conducting scientific research, and implementing international projects in the field of esports.
The IESF World Esports Championship 2027 is set to become one of the largest international competitions in the field of digital sports to be held in Kazakhstan. The championship will be attended by national teams from dozens of countries, leading representatives of the esports industry, international sports federations, experts in education and science, and representatives of technology companies.
"The signing of the agreement to host the IESF World Esports Championship 2027 in Astana is a significant event not only for Kazakhstan but for the entire global esports community. We highly value Kazakhstan's commitment to developing its education system, supporting innovation, and strengthening international cooperation. I am confident that Kazakhstan will host this World Championship at a high level and leave a valuable legacy for future athletes and industry professionals," said Vlad Marinescu, President of the International Esports Federation (IESF).
An important factor strengthening this partnership is that Nurasyl Medeu, the founder of the Kazakh National University of Sports, serves as a director of a department at the International Esports Federation (IESF). This contributes to further strengthening the interconnection between the university and one of the leading international organizations in the esports sector. Such institutional cooperation enables the implementation of joint educational initiatives, academic exchange programs, scientific research, and international projects, laying the foundation for establishing a center of modern competencies in the field of esports in Kazakhstan.
The signed agreements further define Kazakhstan's strategic direction aimed at strengthening its international reputation in the fields of sports, education, and digital technologies. Hosting the IESF World Esports Championship 2027 will be a significant milestone that will strengthen the country's position in the global esports space and elevate international cooperation to a new level.
