From the Student House to digital services: KNUS is ready for the new academic year
Representatives of government agencies reviewed the preparations of the Kazakh National University of Sports for the new 2026–2027 academic year.
As part of a working visit, Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzat Kobenova, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Rollan Serikov, and Head of the Youth Policy Department of Astana city Samat Ibrayev visited the university and inspected the readiness of its infrastructure for the start of the new academic year.
Special attention during the visit was paid to the new Student House, created for the comfortable living, study, and comprehensive development of students.
Rector of the Kazakh National University of Sports Tursynzada Kuangalieva presented the infrastructure of the student house to the guests and spoke about the opportunities that will be available to students in the new academic year.
The Student House, with a total area of 35,785 m², is designed for 1,500 places and includes 626 rooms. Each room is designed for 2–3 students. The living quarters are equipped with individual wardrobes, showers, and bathrooms.
To ensure comfortable living and study conditions, the complex includes a kitchen, a computer lab, a library, a laundry room, and an elevator. Thus, the student house forms a complete environment for the living, learning, and daily life of students.
"Preparation for the new academic year is not just about infrastructure. The main thing is the quality of education, student achievements, and the development of the university at the international level. Today, KNUS is a modern university that combines education, science, innovation, and elite sports. The new Student House is an important part of this environment, creating opportunities for study, sports, recreation, and the comprehensive development of students. Our goal is to give every student the opportunity to realize their potential. And where there are opportunities, there are results and victories," noted Rector Tursynzada Kuangalieva.
Separately, the My KNUS digital platform was presented, which integrates key university services into a single digital ecosystem. The platform is designed to make student interaction with the university more convenient and efficient, providing access to necessary information and services in one digital space.
The preparation of infrastructure, the development of digital services, and the creation of modern living conditions are part of the comprehensive work of the Kazakh National University of Sports to form a new generation of university environment.
