ADDRESS FROM THE FOUNDER AND PROPRIETOR OF THE KAZAKH NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SPORTS
Good day, dear students, faculty, colleagues, and guests!
Today is a landmark day in the history of KazNUS!
We can say with pride: over these five years, we have built a university together that has its own identity, its own achievements, a strong team, and talented students!
In 2021, when we opened the Academy of Physical Culture and Mass Sports, I had a great dream — to create a world-class sports university in Kazakhstan. A place where young people could unlock their talents, receive a high-quality international education, engage in research, and achieve success in elite sports.
Today, nearly five thousand students are studying here. And each of you is already writing your own page in the history of our nation!
We have much to be proud of.
First. We started from scratch. It was 2021. The Right Bank, 150 applicants who believed in us and became our first students.
Second. We initiated and created the "Sports" field of study within the higher and postgraduate education system.
Third. We launched new educational programs. We initiated innovative scientific projects in the field of sports.
Fourth. We have implemented projects with our international partners:
● Together with the International Esports Federation, we launched the "Esports" educational program and opened a joint esports laboratory.
● Together with the Xinhua News Agency (China), we opened a Sport Media Lab to train sports journalists.
● Within the framework of the Norwegian RITA project, we launched a Rescue Sport Center in collaboration with Polish partners;
● Together with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), we established the Central Asian educational hub for promoting leadership in sports and clean sport;
● Together with the International Olympic Committee, we opened the Center for Olympic Studies, Education, and Heritage; Kazakhstan became the first country in Central Asia to be represented in this international academic network.
● Together with the Hungarian University of Sports Science, we opened a Center of Excellence and Sustainable Development in Sports;
● Together with UN Women, we are implementing the "Women in Kazakhstani Sports" project to support women in sports.
Fifth. We signed dual-degree programs with foreign universities: Eclore Business School, from which we already have results. 20 master's students have already received dual degrees. Agreements have been signed and are in the active implementation stage with universities such as Site (Sweden), Woosong University (Korea), Marconi University (Italy), and WSG (Poland).
Sixth, thanks to my founder's grants — the Life Chance Grant and the Merit Grant — talented young people from rural regions have received the opportunity to study and pursue their dreams. The Merit Grant fully covers tuition costs. The Life Chance Grant, in addition to free tuition, provides a monthly stipend twice as high as the state scholarship, mentorship, dormitory accommodation, and funding for studies abroad.
Seventh, out of our seventeen students who represented Kazakhstan at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, fourteen won prizes!
Our achievements could be listed endlessly.
Over these years, I have managed to create a university where people rejoice in each other's successes, support the pursuit of knowledge, and believe in the potential of the youth. This is exactly how I wanted to see KazNUS from its inception — strong, open, full of life, and confident in the future.
You all know that a university is not just buildings or walls; a university is a strong teaching staff, unique programs, a well-structured educational process, and successful extracurricular work. The proof of all this is our students, who show magnificent results not only within Kazakhstan but also at the international level.
My goal was to build a world-class educational cluster, provide students with the highest quality education, and contribute to the future of Kazakhstan. I believe I have succeeded. And now, the time has come to proudly announce that I am gifting KazNUS to my home country.
I have been working toward this step since the university's founding. It was important for me to assemble a strong team, create worthy conditions for education, and lay a solid foundation for further development. Together, we have done it!
It is a great honor for me to make such a contribution to the future of Kazakhstan. Everything we have created must serve our youth, our sports, and our country.
Dear students! All obligations to you, the current students of our university, remain in full force, including the founder's grants already awarded. Do not worry about this!
Our professors will continue their work with you, sharing knowledge, helping you grow, and rejoicing with you in new achievements.
The funds for financing these grants are already in the account. The entire amount to cover the grants for the full duration of your studies is available in the university's account, which I have personally deposited and will be legally secured.
If we compare KazNUS to a ship, I have built it to be powerful, indestructible, and reliable; I have gathered a strong, talented team of like-minded people and, together with them, prepared it for a great voyage. I am sincerely grateful to you for believing, never giving up, and bringing all our ideas and plans to life all this time. Today, I proudly send this ship on its journey. Ahead lie new discoveries, new generations of students, and new reasons to raise the flag of Kazakhstan on the international stage!
I want to put an end to any speculation and declare that this is not a sale, not a transfer to trust management, and not a forced step, but a gratuitous gift to my home country so that it may prosper, reach unprecedented heights, and gain recognition at the global level.
May KazNUS grow and develop. May bold ideas, strong friendships, and great victories be born here. And may each of you find your own path and proudly say: "I am a graduate of the Kazakh National University of Sports!"
