The Rectorate is a collegial operational and advisory body that provides solutions to current issues of educational, research and administrative and economic activities of the Kazakh National University of Sports (hereinafter – KNUS).
The main task of the Rectorate is to organize and coordinate the on-going work on the implementation of the KNUS Development Strategy and on ensuring the main activities, preliminary study of issues related to the competence of the Rector and other corporate and collegial management bodies, and development of recommendations to them.
The competence of the Rectorate includes the following issues:
monitoring of the implementation of the Development Strategy and operational plans of KNUS;
consideration of issues of implementation of current work plans by structural units of KNUS;
development of recommendations on priority areas of development of KNUS as a whole and its structural divisions;
organization of professional orientation and admission of students;
consideration of current issues of the organization of the educational process and its educational and methodological support;
consideration of issues of mutual visits and control visits to training sessions;
consideration of issues of operational management of the academic activities of KNUS;
consideration of current issues of the organization of KNUS research activities, including the research work of students;
consideration of current issues of the organization of educational work of KNUS;
consideration of current issues of the organization of economic work of KNUS;
consideration of current issues of international cooperation;
monitoring of the implementation of decisions taken by the corporate governance, control and collegial bodies of KNUS;
development of decisions on other issues referred to the competence of the Rectorate in accordance with the Charter and on behalf of the Unified Meeting of Participants, the Supervisory Board and the Management Board of KNUS.
The Rectorate consists of the Rector, Vice-rectors and heads of structural divisions of KNUS. The composition of the Rectorate is approved by the order of the Rector of KNUS. The Rector of KNUS is the Chairman of the Rectorate, directly supervises the activities of the Rectorate.
The Rectorate carries out work in accordance with the Plan, which is drawn up and approved by the Rector for each academic year. Meetings of the Rectorate are held by the Rector, and on Rector’s absence – by the person performing Rector’s duties (Deputy Rector). Rectorate meetings are held 1 (one) every 2 (two) weeks.
